It feels like just a couple months have gone by but apparently it's been nearly a year since I last wrote on this page. Time has gone by faster than I could have ever imagined. Over the course of 2016 I continued to work with college players preparing for the NFL combine, learned dry needling technique, worked with members of the US military at MacDill air force base, and continued to treat patients in my office in downtown Tampa or their home. Needless to say, something had to get put on the backburner and updating this blog apparently did not make the cut.

With everything you have going on in your life it's very easy to cut something important out of your routine simply because you think it will redirect your attention and focus to other things you think you should be doing. Unfortunately we often cut things that require extra time and effort and more than likely aren't things that we like doing. Just as I discovered nearly a year could go by in a blink of an eye, your health can take a drastic turn in a short amount of time. That morning walk you used to do everyday, the 10 minutes of stretching your low back before you get out of bed, and the 30 minutes of weight training you did every other day all paid important dividends but quickly disappear if you don't keep them up.

They say it's a journey not a race, and as time goes by that journey will seem tedious and tiring. No matter what you have been promised in the past, the only thing that works is your ability to be consistent; to do the hard things each and every day. There will always seemingly be more important things that come up, but part of your success in both life and health require you to make the time necessary to get that hard stuff done. So before you find yourself wondering what happened to the year, get back up on the horse and get going on at least one healthy habit - today.

Yours in health,

Keith Pacific
